#OctPoWriMo 25 – Typewriter

Black and red ribbon saturated with ink
You capture the narrative thoughts that I think
We work in tandem a poem to write
Your lettered round keys glinting so bright

Note: This represents my 200th blog post! It seemed fitting to pay homage to that nearly extinct species on the cladogram of technology. In particular, I refer to the circa 1940s Smith-Corona Clipper manual typewriter that I’ve had in my possession for the last 20 years. A purchase from an estate sale, I used the typewriter several times in my teens and twenties to spark creative juices. Now the object sits among the decor like a museum piece.
