#OctPoWriMo 6 – Trimeric

The child is goneSydney Love
The mind withdraws from memory
The heart aches with grief
The heart paints a portrait of love

The mind withdraws from memory
Protectively seeking solitude
Until time heals

The heart aches with grief
Unbidden, pushed away
Salt in the wound

The heart paints a portrait of love
Healing begins with memory
Cherish the time of life

  1. Just before I clicked on your link, I thought that I would write a poem for today’s challenge in honor of my first son, who passed away after 8 weeks. Coincidence? Perhaps. A lovely write, inspirational and heart-breaking. Thank you so much for sharing. I’m off into my memories now, to write.
